It Is Completed

Last time I was in California, it was to build this rather large stained glass piece for the new ELCA Lutheran Center in Santa Ana. Monday, my sisters and I took a field trip to visit the center, and got to see the window completely installed. Love It!
Rather than using brightly colored glass in liturgical colors, the Bishop and I had opted for using clear glass in lots of interesting textures. It fits in beautifully with the Mission Style decor of the center.

Bead Mania

Yesterday, my sister Elisabeth took me downtown LA to the Bead District. Holy Cow! For a small town girl from Nebraska who gets excited in the bead aisle of Michael's, I was in Heaven! We went in store after store full of beads. Beads. Beads. Above is a sampling of what I bought...
A snapshot of the Bead District (above) Below - this inside of Berger Beads...

Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest - Beach Style

This week's Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest image features two incredibly white women on the beach. The contest is simple and fun - think of a fun saying/quote/phrase/passage etc that works well with this picture. Enter as often as you like. Be sure to check back and see what other people suggest - it will amaze you how very clever they are. This week's winner won't be chosen on Friday, but the following week when I get back from Sunny Southern California. Make sense why I chose this picture? I'm that white. I'm going to California. I don't care because I get to spend days with my three fabulous sisters and lots of other family.
Carry on while I'm away - I'll be watching from the beach.

This Week's Winner - Knows

This week's winner of the Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest is Heatherj. Yes, it's true - The Dude looks like a lady, and his closet is for clothes, and while he's a red-head probably feels quite pretty in this hat - YIKES! There are so many great options! In the end, though - This one was chosen: "Someone Always Know What You're Doing". Too true.

Pop over to SilverWork and read about her visit to Two Dog Pond! We had a great time...See the great rings she traded me for some pendants. Meanwhile, Miss Heatherj - send me your address and I'll send you your necklace!

Man Gift

For Valentine's Day I made my husband this copper money clip. It's etched, stamped with our GPS coordinates, fire patinaed, and sealed with Renaissance Wax. I probably should have used a $100 bill for the photo...

My question is this: Should I include this in my new website as a personalized gift? I don't really have any Man Gifts...

Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest - The Red Head

Welcome to the Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest. It's a fun and easy contest. I post a picture, you win a necklace. The inbetween part is the fun part - make a comment on what you think would be the perfect caption for this picture. Enter as often as you like, encourage your friends to enter too. The really fun part comes in reading what everyone submits. On Friday morning a winner will be chosen (not an easy feat!) and rewarded with a soldered glass pendant on a 24" chain. Honestly - I can't wait to see what sorts of comments this image brings...

Wipe Out

I wore these earrings to church this morning. I made the beads, and those blobs are supposed to be hearts. After church my friend Kevin took great delight in telling me his daughter said my earrings look like toilet paper rolls.
Out of the mouth of babes.

Finishing Up Projects

This week I finished a project I've been working on for a while. We had some trees removed (they were under the power line and quite scruffy looking) and kept this trunk out of the fireplace. I removed the bark, sanded it down, applied coats of finish, resined the top, mosaiced the stumps, added a glass top and a Christmas cactus. Voila!
There was an article in the local newspaper about my hats this week.
If you would like, you can read about it here. Just remember - I use the word "LOVE" way too often (wait - is that possible?). Don't talk in complete sentances, and ADD stands for "Artistic Deficit Disorder".

This Week's Winner - It's a Good Thing

This week's Two Dog Pond Necklace contest is Miss Kristi with her entry of "You say bitch, like it's a bad thing." ha ha ha. Can't you just see her saying that? (the woman in the image, not Miss Kristi). I wasn't sure what she could possibly be saying, but now I totally admire her spunk...white stockings and all. Miss Kristi - please e-mail me your mailing address and I will send you your bitchin' necklace on a 24" chain.
My apologies that this week's winner is being posted so late in the day... the internet is quite spotty today here at Two Dog Pond. I can't even shop decently!

Pandora - Two Dog Pond Style

I used some of the beads I've been making and made a bracelet.
It kind of hurts. I think I need a new clasp idea...

Two Dog Pond Necklace Contest - Something to Say

For this week's necklace contest I've chosen a different sort of image. This woman could be listening, she could have something profound to say, or she's about to do some fancy Chinese acrobatics... I can't tell. This is where you come in: submit a phrase, word, symbol, comment, or quote that you think would best fit this image. Enter as often as you like! Check back often to see what your fellow entrants are entering - it's good, cheap entertainment.
On Friday, a winner will be chosen and rewarded with a soldered glass pendant hanging on a 24" ball chain.

This Week's Winner - T O'Lee

The Winner of this week's necklace contest is TLee, whom I shall now call T O'Lee because she won with her Irish Blessing "May you have love that never ends, and may God send love again and again." What a wonderful blessing! Thank you T O'Lee. Please e-mail me your mailing address and I will put your necklace in the mail to you.

There really were lots of great entries again - and ::Lynnie:: - yours was just too naughty.

Carry On - Have a great weekend!

Oh - I 'fixed' my computer without using a pistol as I was verbally threatening to do. It mostly works again - but does anyone know how to get the main screen for QuickBooks to show up again? Seems I deleted it...it's just a big green square. Whoops.

Game On Necklace

Yes. It's as busy as it looks. I just finished it and listed it in my etsy shop.
I'm still giggling.
