What's On My Desk

A customer was lucky enough to find 30 old-time children's compasses. I soldered half a jump ring on top, copper patinaed them, glued in a "Never lose your way" image and am letting them dry before I add a top coat and then resin them and add a brass chain to each. I love them.
Like my photo enhancing? It's a free program called Pixlr-o-matic. Fun times.

I love these. It reminds me of a road trip my friend and I took several years ago. It was before GPS and I was not much of a map reader. After 3 or 4 passes of the same farm, we realized the hawks weren't the birds circling the sky, they were vultures and had come to sit on the fence.... She told me they were laughing at us and the area was Wilderness, Virginia. Thanks for the memories.

Aahhh... how did we ever get around before GPS? Vultures? That would send me home or looking for my pistol!
