It's a Love / Hate Relationship

SNOW I Love the view from my studio this morning
I hate the view from the side of the house. Yes, once again my fabulous driving skills landed me in a small drift in the yard. I will not be going anywhere today....again. Tim is going to save me once again when he brings home a new tow rope after work.

Are you a southern girl? When I meet a new transplant to NC, I warn them that even though they know how to drive in the snow, many southerners just think they do. We don't have the equipment to clear the roads and snowtires are an unknown. I stay home if there is the slightest threat of snow! I KNOW I can't drive in it!

At least you have a Christmasy view!

Ha! I wish I had that excuse! I grew up even farther north than this in Indiana... I did spend 8 years in Dallas though. I think it's probably the stack of "Reckless Driving" tickets that gives away the reason I end up in these situations...
You are very kind, though, Anna! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Dear Santa,
Please bring Rachel a 4-wheel drive vehicle for Christmas. You might remember her - she has been working as an independent contractor for you and has filled quite a few Christmas orders. She has been very good this year. Well, she has been mostly good this year. Thanks, Santa.

Seems like you need a truck to go along with that pistol you pack!

Just one mile away and the roads are clear! Maybe I need a snowmobile - or, yes - double-ding-dang-it, an old pick up truck.

Ohmy... in Omaha the people with SUV's and 4WD vehicles are INSANE. They are completely fearless and have no problem going "off road" to get around me in my slippery minivan.
Another Nebraska Novelty I have noticed since moving here is that the snow NEVER MELTS. It seriously hangs around for weeks and weeks. You can measure the winter by the "snow layers" of various snowfalls if you dig down like a paleantologist (sp?)...
