Remodel Project Phase I

Don't freak out, but this is where I work... It's in the walkout basement of our home. I've decided that I should A) clean up my work space and B) create a nicer environment for the Two Dog Pond Sweatshop Employees {whoops, I'm all out of those right now} and C) create a little space for people to come shop without getting cuts and burns.
Above is my computer/printer/soldering/grinder/fake brick wall painted to look like a fake fireplace in Santa's Village and unfinished projects...
Phase I - Painted the 'brick' white (like vanilla ice cream), and the short wall Fudge. Replaced the light fixture with spot lights. This is where the 'shop' will be. The other wall, the one with windows, is a caramel color...sense a theme?
It's a disater area around here, but I'm making progress. I'm setting up stations for different tasks (grinding, fusing, soldering, office), but I just keep staring at the freshly painted, clean, uncluttered area where the shop will be.... the rest of the studio looks like a tornado went through a bookstore, headed into Home Depot and then to Michaels. Now it's time to work on some orders that are due today....

Go, go, go...it's so refreshing to clean up, clear out, organize and redecorate! :)

R~ It's not that bad... I think most artists work with a certain amount of clutter- we like the artistic process... not the cleaning up process. I love the walls! Right now I'm feeling like a hot fudge sundae

The wall colors are wonderful, fresh and crisp. It takes a while to complete any task...so the mess will be fine in the end!

You are all so supportive and kind about my mess! Thank you! I'm thinking about calling HGTV and having them come in and finish it...one of the organization shows - but then I'd never find anything again.

Rachel- I like the cream color on the break. Nice, warm and yet crisp. The other colors are a great choice.
Oh good I see Mary and Frau popped over and left a message. I posted the little gem I won and linked to your blog.
Deb is right- about artist have a little turned up work area. I have one closet I turned into my entertaining, cooking and baking area I can't even see the work top there. My porcelain painting, ribbon area etc downstairs I have been working on cleaning for the last 1.5. LOL...
Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see more. xoxo
