High Desert Diva with her entry of

"Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress".

Love it!!

And the winner is....

LISA B with her entry of "Girls just wanna have fun"!
AND - We have a bonus winner for "Thinking Outside the Box" - JOY! with her suggestion to make it one of those rear-view mirror dingles with the words "Queen of the Road". It's like having the Patron Saint of Reckless Driving {hey - that would have been good on the back too} with you. I'm sure that next time I get picked up for Reckless Driving, I'll - - I mean - if I ever get picked up for reckless driving, I'll show the nice officer this dingle and he'll let me off with a warning.

Thanks to all who entered - there really were a lot of great ideas. We'll do it again on Monday!

On - and Lisa B - please send me your address!

New Contest at Two Dog Pond

Here at Two Dog Pond we make soldered glass pendants. Many of them are custom ordered and the rest are created for art festivals, craft fairs, home trunk shows etc. Usually they have a vintage photo/postcard/or collage on the front and a word or a saying on the back....
So here's the contest:
Every week I will post an image for the front of a soldered pendant and you submit a clever saying for the backside. Enter as many times as you want.
If your saying/word(s) are chosen for the pendant, you will win a soldered glass pendant of the contest image with your saying on the back!!
How cool is that? It will even come with a chain!
So - here's the first image:
Put on your thinking cap and submit a saying or a word for the back side and on Friday we'll choose a winner.
On your mark. Get Set. Go.

Published Nationally!
Way to go, Kira!

Marketplace Festival Successival

It's always fun to participate in the Festivals held at the Liberty House. Yesterday's event was made even better because of the people that came to it. Incredible people. It's always good to see happy customers/friends, but even better when they come back for more. It was also good to meet the clever Miss Jill - watch for her etsy site coming soon...I don't have a clue what she creates, but know that whatever it is will be worthy of coveting.
As hoped for, my tent was right next to Leah from Moxie Photo and Design. (that girl makes Schlitz Beer cards that are a hoot! and she sold out of them before I could snag one)

....mmmm....and Aunt Jeannie's famous Pumkin Pie spritzed with Bourbon.
Delightful.

Plum Creek Market Festival

If you are going to be anywhere near Seward, Nebraska tomorrow - you won't want to miss this! The Plum Creek Literacy Festival is going on at Concordia University - amazing event, but even more fun is the Plum Creek Market Festival going on at the Liberty House (corner of 4th and Moffitt). There will be antiques, my stuff, Miss Leah's stuff , and much more! If it's as windy tomorrow as it is today, you won't even have to get out of your car - just open your windows and things will blow in! It will, of course, be more fun to get out and shop. The best part for me? I get to hang out with Leah all day! She is an amazing vortex of clever creativity and wit. Come see us!!

Other events in Seward that day: a Cat Show, a Husker Chop Dinner, a Car Boot Sale, a motorcycle rally, a pumpkin patch.... contact the Chamber for more information 402-643-4189.

I Love Fall

I just took Rumple for a little walk - he needs to burn off some energy since I just discovered that he took half the clothes off the clothesline and was swinging them around and running through the yard with them....tons of room to run and play and he chooses the clothesline.
Anyway...the trees are changing - it's a beautiful fall day - and the spiders are out scaring the holy beejeebers out of me.

Go Bulldogs - and more...

Tomorrow is Concordia University's Homecoming Game. Before the game the University has invited some of us local alumni to set up our wares along side some of the Student Groups. So - if you are an Alumni or would just like to look like one, I've made a bunch of Concordia University Alumni {or Bulldog} charms! See you there...
...a sneak peek at the new ornament style for this year...

How cool are these personalized charms? Special order with monograms. Love them!

Celebrate Your Friends

When I lived in Dallas I met the most wonderful person at an SMU party. Neither of us were from SMU, and we started chatting and found that we had a lot in common. Kathy and I became great friends and had some wild adventures. We each left Dallas to pursue other lives and kept in touch at Christmas - Kathy always being better at it than me. This weekend Kathy came to Two Dog Pond for a visit. She's still the same amazing person - we picked up right where we left off 15 years ago...except this time nothing we did could have landed us in jail!! {I just threw that in to see if you are still reading this....}

Those t-shirts? I made them. Me and my Soft Scrub. If I can find the photos, I'll post the ones of us in Dallas in the sweatshirts I made back then - Kathy was always a good sport about being a model with me while our friend Monty pretended he was a photographer....
FOUND THEM!!

...Matt, Mark, Jonathon - your moms were dorks. But we had fun!!!

If you lived through the 80's - you're probably singing "what a feeling" from FlashDance about now...
