Today, in preparation for tomorrow's holiday feasting, I am preparing some of the dishes. So far, I have my olives soaking in vodka, and in the event that you might have forgotten to do that, thought I would post this gentle reminder. They are much better if you start soaking them the day before. This is my personal stash. It's just not good to be caught drinking at 9am, but no one seems to notice if you are enjoying an olive or two every ten minutes. Just make sure you have a good reason in the event you are caught drinking the "olive juice" right out of the jar. My sister's excuse? "Oh. I had a grueling workout this morning and need to replace my sodium". Enjoy, and you're welcome.

I know you miss seeing pictures of my chickens.
This is Buff Daddy:
He is a 'fancy' rooster.

These are some of my hens and Shizzle Frizzle the other rooster.
None of my hens are laying eggs yet.

I would like to do an experiment, and need everyones help. Please close your eyes and put it out there in the universe that these hens will start laying on Thanksgiving morning. I'm curious if it will work....

Scotch ice cubes? Really? How do you make those? Gosh, I miss spending time with you...I just might put Moscow Mule mugs on my Christmas list in honor of those consumed with you in years past...
I miss spending time with you, too, Kath. I could tell you anything and you would believe it! I'm not really making scotch ice cubes - scotch doesn't freeze. The scotch drinkers are on their own.
mmmm.... Moscow Mules... that does bring up a lot of good memories! Happy Thanksgiving!
I know alcohol doesn't freeze--which is why I wondered how you did that! I figured you just watered it down--which is something a true Scotch lover would not tolerate! I know, I am one! Still, it would be delightful to have a glass of Scotch-flavored ice cubes...
