When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees. He then made all the animals: the fish, the birds and bees. And when at last He'd finish, not one was quite the same. He said, "I'll walk this world of mine and give each one a name." And so he traveled far and wide and everywhere he went, a little creature followed Him untill its strength was spent. When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea, the little creature said. "Dear Lord, there's not one left for me." Kindly the Father said to him, "I've left you to the end. I've turned my own name back to front and called you dog, my frind." In loving memory of Reese
I'm so sorry. We just recently lost one of our dogs to cancer, so I know how you're feeling. They are so much fun to have and love, but so hard to say goodbye to!
I'm so sorry, I have lost three dogs in the last four years (two were very old and had lived a good life, and one was young but had been sick), I know how hard it is to lose such a wonderful family member. They are such gifts from God, and we don't deserve them, they add so much to our lives every day. I will be thinking of you.
You are all so kind. It is hard to lose such a valuable member of our family. Rumple is adjusting slowly - he still looks for Reese when he's being naughty. We are all so lucky to have these animals in our lives. God blesses us in so many ways.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my 12 1/2 year old sheltie Ginger in May and it's been all to quiet here without her special bark. Your Reese like my Ginger lived a wonderful long life with good people who loved them dearly. Now we who remain have their precious memories to hold in our hearts.
What a lovely dog & wonderful memories you will have always of sweet Reese. We lost our lab Ben last September. Now when I read of blog friends who have lost dogs, I imagine Ben greeting them at Rainbow Bridge. That's the kind of dog he was ~ we would call him the "Welcome Waggin' " at the park :-)Thank goodness for memories! (Crafty 1 I am going to copy down your beautiful poem) Thankyou.
Oh, I am so sorry!! We had to put one of our dogs down last year and I still tear up thinking of her! She was 18 and my first "baby"! I still miss her!

OH, How sad - thinkinking of you!
Oh, I am so sorry. It is so very hard to lose a pet, as they are just like family. I am thinking of you and your family.
OMG...he was the cutest dang pup!!! And a good looking old feller, too. Sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so terrible when a family loses a dog. May the little fellow rest in peace.

Their lives are shorter than ours, but oh, what they give us while they are with us.
Hold onto those happy memories.

Rachel, I'm so very sorry. What a beautiful dog, inside and out.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Our dogs are such a special part of our families. Memories to last a life time.
My sympathies!
Mom just lost her dog about a month ago, and she said that she didn't realize how much it would hurt!
Dogs are people too.
So sorry!
