Rumple found this giant turtle strolling down the path.
I found this teeny little turtle (he's sitting on a lettuce leaf now) while tending the vineyard.
I'm going to glue some rhinestones on his back and put a collar around his
neck and wear him for a pendant.
{Not really - Gavin is going to raise him as his own. He has an aquarium and some turtle food ready to go. The adoption is planned for later this week.}

That sure is a big turtle! I have heard of people painting the turtles shells and then when they see them again they know it was the turtle they had seen before! lol My grandmother was actually doing that a couple of years ago! hehehe
Waaaay long ago, you could buy little turtles with palm trees, birds, etc. already painted on them. You'd put them in a small round plastic dish with a rock and a plastic palm tree, and then lose interest in them until your mother threatened to flush them down the toilet if you didn't dump out the now-smelly water. They didn't live very long, and thankfully people don't sell them like that any longer (I hope). Have fun with your turtle!
My husband and I used to have pet turtles. We built a pond for them in our backyard and we'd always know if one "escaped" into the yard because our weiner dog would just stand in one spot barking at it until we came to the rescue. :)
So cool, great photos!
I've never seen one that small! Do you make your own wine too?
we had tine turtles when I was a kid--my cousin Danny Jo ate his!
I had a pet turtle in a kidney shaped plastic container with a palm tree and a slide when I was 5. I was going to teach that turtle all sorts of tricks. Then my little brother picked it up and squeezed it. Dead. But at least no one ate it!!! That's just crazy!
WOW! My son (10) and i are both very impressed with your turtles. I think we need another "field trip" to play at your house. BTW... Zach thinks the rhinestones are quite silly.
i seen the little guy today, he sure is cute. He will have a good home with Gavin.
I'm just happy that little Rumple didn't get his nose bit off! That's a snapper, isn't it? They are so mean and nasty. We've had a few crawl up to the house.
Run away!
